Late night vittles

Tonight I saw and did some pretty cool stuff. I’m surprised to say that I am really enjoying working in the ER. I examined the cutest little baby ever, saw a serious external ear infection, put a cast on a little one's arm, and did a lumbar puncture. Oh, and I told a guy with a cold to go home!

One of my regular readers has indicated to me that my posts of late have been scarce and crappy. I apologize. I've been busy. After my next few evening and night shifts, and my paramedic ride along this weekend, perhaps I will have the necessary fodder for a humourous anecdote.

Letter to Youppi

Dear Youppi,

I love you. I cannot say how overjoyed I was when the Montreal Canadians took you in from the cold after the Expos franchise moved south of the border. My only complaint is that they did not let you keep your ball cap. I thought it looked perfectly charming with your new jersey. It payed homage to days gone by, all the while looking forward and embracing change!

love Tabby

ps - I am impressed at how quickly you mastered skating. You are one talented mascot. And very cute.

Cats less fortunate 2

I met this cat down at the park today...all messed up on cat nip and plotting to scratch his owner's eyes out. It took me nearly 3 hours to talk him down.

Yes Dr. X., I’ve heard of shingles!

Well, it feels like forever since I’ve written, and yet I don’t have anything particularly exciting to report. I have a cold, which has caused me a two day headache, moderate hearing loss, and a sore throat. Today was my first emerg shift and I was hampered due to a low grade fever, and not being able to hear much of what was going on because my ears were plugged. Also, I had another disastrous run in with Dr. X. Just once, I’d like to feel like a smarty pants around him. I don’t even have the energy to detail the calamity.

The truck sounds like hell. I don’t know what they did to fix her up, but she runs about as smoothly as nails on a chalk board, producing a similar sound. As long as the brakes work I guess…

I am going to take a Neocitron and go to bed. I wish I had some Trazodone instead.
